   I AM supporting the HARRIS/WALZ ticket for these reasons:

   • For free speech, in words and print as is written in the Constitution.

   • The right to defend my life and my family.

   • To protect the Constitution and hold Supreme Court Justices accountable when accepting gifts or bribes.

   • For continuing to help lower inflation.

Monticello can come together by voting for a new school

   With the national election coming soon, our country seems quite divided when discussing the candidates. What can we do to make this different? We can vote; we can step up when we can make a difference, and we can have civil discussions on issues that matter to us and sometimes agree to disagree when different perspectives are shared.

To the Editor,

   I no longer live in this community; however, I feel I can no longer stay silent on this issue.

   I was recently home for the funeral of my grandmother, Ann Schrader. She was a teacher in the community for over 30 years. Anyone who knew her understands she was not one to hold her tongue on something she felt strongly about. This and conversations with family and friends in the community has made me want to speak out here.

   Kids will say the darndest things, and some adults apparently do too! Monica McHugh’s recent Letter to the Editor holds all kinds of wild statements in defense of Steve Bradley, and her writing is just as curious while taking swipes at Andy McKean.
