     • 5:13 p.m. -- Police responded to the 200 block of North Main Street for a report of a suspicious person or vehicle. 

• 7 p.m. -- Police responded to the 300 block of East Washington Street for a report of an animal at large.

• Derrick Gene Dawdy, 41, of Anamosa, was arrested Oct. 4 on a charge of driving while barred. 

Court documents state a Jones County Sheriff’s Office sergeant took a report of a collision that had happened earlier in the day in Anamosa. The sergeant gathered Dawdy’s information for the collision report, and Dawdy, whose license is barred, admitted to driving his motorcycle, documents state. 

• Alan Franklin Billmeyer, 54, of Dubuque, was arrested Oct. 12 on charges of driving while barred and possession of a controlled substance.

• A motorist form Maquoketa hit a deer in Jones County at 8:20 p.m. on Oct. 6. 

A crash report states Lorna Sue Scott was driving on Highway 38 when she hit the animal. 

Damage to Scott’s 2022 Ford Maverick was estimated at $2,000. 

 

• A two-vehicle crash on U.S. 151 sent one motorist to the hospital.
