Monticello’s freshman-sophomore softball team recently completed its season under head coach Kim McQuillen.
The Panther fresh-sophs opened their season by playing host to Anamosa June 4, and split a doubleheader, winning 7-5 and losing 14-10. Mallory Steiner was the winning pitcher in the first game. Aveeon Drake batted 2-for-2, and Kelsey Adams was 1-for-1 with a double. Piper Hansen also doubled.
In the second game, Elise Kehoe and Drake were both 2-for-2. Karle Kramer walked three times and scored two runs. Triniti Etzel went 1-for-2.
