2019 National Skilled Nursing Care Week

Letter to the Editor

To the Editor,

Live Soulfully this National Skilled Nursing Care Week.

What are you doing for yourself and others every day? What makes you happy? How are you contributing to your happiness and the happiness of others? Every day, skilled nursing centers assist our seniors and people with disabilities in living their happiest and best lives. That is why Monticello Nursing and Rehab is excited that the theme of this year’s National Skilled Nursing Care Week (NSNCW), formerly known as National Nursing Home Week, is “Live Soulfully,” taking place May 12-18.

The theme “Live Soulfully” will celebrate skilled nursing centers, and their residents and staff by showcasing how they achieve happy minds and healthy souls. Whether it’s planting, cooking, reading or listening to music, these centers pay it forward by helping individuals find happiness to improve quality of life. Centers will be encouraged to participate by hosting activities that display how they “Life Soulfully” and share their stories and experiences on social media.

Monticello Nursing and Rehab takes pride in helping its residents achieve happiness every day. During Skilled Nursing Care Week, we will be participating in a number of activities to feed our souls including: planting flowers, aromatherapy hand massages, making friendship bracelets, tie-dyed t-shirts, having a pet parade and a farm animal day, and sampling soul food.

Come learn about our amazing residents and the work we do this NSNCW. Join us for any of our activities scheduled daily at 10 a.m. and 2:15 p.m. For more information, please contact Leann at 319-465-5415 or lherman@monticellocampus.com.
