Prairie Hill

   The September meeting of Prairie Hill 4-H Club was called to order at 6:17 p.m. at the Youth Development Center in Monticello by Taylor Gassman, President, on Sept. 19, 2022. The pledge to the American Flag was led by Roth Schnoor.

   Roll call of “What is your favorite season?” was answered by 29 members.  Minutes from the August meeting were read by Secretary Lauren Koehler. A motion to approve the Secretary’s Report was made by Harper Russell and seconded by John Leytem.  Motion carried.

   Treasurer Mace Schnoor, gave his report. A motion to approve the Treasurer’s Report was made by Adley Rahe and seconded by Eli Moestchen. Motion carried.

   New Club Officers were elected for 2022-2023:

   Leah Koehler, President.

   Lily Moestchen, Vice President.

   Lorelei Rieken, Treasurer.

   Mace Schnoor, Secretary.

   Lauren Koehler, Reporter.

   John Leytem, Historian.

   Taylor Gassman, Photographer.

   Recreation Leader, Lake Schnoor.

   Prairie Hill 4-H Club will again be selling Edgewood Locker Meat as a fundraiser. Orders are due on Oct. 17 and delivery will be on Saturday, Nov. 19.

   Members were reminded that 4-H record books are due to club leaders by Oct. 21 and were encouraged to apply for awards.  On Nov. 20, 4-H Awards Night will be held.

   Leah Koehler informed the club of her citizenship project goal of donating 24 birthday cake kit boxes to the Monticello Food Pantry. She handed out a flyer and asked that members contribute kit items or complete boxes to help her reach her goal at the next meeting.

   Lake Schnoor gave a presentation about using a wood lathe. Mace Schnoor gave a presentation about the history and regulation of hunting wildlife. Roth Schnoor gave a presentation about the different types of welders, and Rynn Schnoor gave a presentation about llamas.

   The next meeting of the Prairie Hill 4-H Club will be on Monday, Oct. 17.  Pumpkin carving and decorating will precede the meeting at 5:30 p.m.

   A motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Eli Moestchen and seconded by Valerie Cupples. Motion carried. The meeting concluded with the Pledge to the 4-H Flag led by Harper Russell.
