Oxford Happy Hustlers

April meeting

     The regular meeting of the Oxford Happy Hustlers was held April 2, 2017 at 5 p.m. in Onslow at the Bean Farm. Four members and five guests were present. All members brought a dessert or snack to share.

     The meeting was then called to order by president Morgan Strait. The Pledge to the American Flag was led by Lillian Strait. Roll call was “What is your favorite Easter candy?” It was answered by four members. The secretary’s report was given by Nicole Guenther and the treasurer’s report by Lillian Strait. A bill was presented for new member t-shirts, the motion to pay the bill was made by Nicole Guenther and seconded by Lillian Strait. Committee reports were given by Lillian Strait on the Intermediate Trip. There was no correspondence.

     In old business, new member t-shirts were brought to the meeting and distributed to members, leaders, and parents. The annual trip/tour will be at Dan and Debby’s on Saturday May 6 at 10 a.m.; everyone is to meet at the Wyoming Citizens State Bank at 8:30 a.m. 4-H Basketball will be hosted at Monticello Middle School on April 8 at 9:30 a.m.

     In new business, the County Clothing Event, Communications Day, and Share the Fun will be May 13. All members must have any planned project for the fair added or deleted on the 4-H website by May 1. The cost of $3 per member will be donated towards 4-Hers for 4-H; the motion to donate was made by Sara Flores and seconded by Nicole Guenther. Livestock requirement packets were handed out and discussed. The club flower pot was discussed. All members are to make and deliver Easter Baskets to a relative or community member.

     The 4-H pledge was led by Lillian Strait. The next meeting will be May 6 during the club trip. The motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Nicole Guenther and seconded by Sara Flores.

Oxford Happy Hustlers

March meeting

     The regular meeting of the Oxford Happy Hustlers was held March 5, 2017 at 5 p.m. in the Oxford Junction St. Mark’s Lutheran Church. The call to order was made by Morgan Strait. Four members, two leaders, and one guest were present. The meeting was hosted by Morgan Strait. The pledge to the American flag was led by Lillian Strait. Roll call was “What is your mother’s favorite T.V. show?” It was answered by four members. The secretary’s report was given by Nicole Guenther and the treasurer’s report was given by Lillian Strait. A bill was presented for a record book cover and 4-H box. The motion to pay the bill was made by Nicole Guenther and seconded by Lillian Strait. There was no correspondence. Committee reports were given by Lillian Strait on the Legislative Trip, Nicole Guenther on valentines, and Morgan Strait on the hockey trip.

     In old business, 4-H basketball will be in Monticello on April 8. New club t-shirts were discussed and are to be ordered. Registration fees are to be paid; the motion to pay registration fees was made by Nicole Guenther and seconded by Lillian Strait.

     In new business, the dog show will be at the fair this year on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. Members are advised to read the 4-H newsletter.

     The 4-H pledge was led by Nicole Guenther. The motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Sara Flores and seconded by Nicole Guenther. Presentations were given by Morgan Strait on “Child Development,” Sara Flores on “The Importance of Coloring,” and Lillian Strait on “Quick Breads.”
