Prairie Hill

   Following a cookie decorating activity, the December meeting of the Prairie Hill 4-H Club was called to order at 6:10 p.m. by Leah Koehler, President, on Monday, Dec. 19, 2022 at the Youth Development Center.

   The pledge to the American Flag was led by Lincoln Schneiter. The roll call question of “What is your favorite Christmas movie?” was answered by 34 members. Eight visitors were present.

   The Secretary’s Report was read by Secretary Mace Schnoor. Eli Moestchen made a motion to approve the minutes. Lorelei Rieken seconded the motion. Motion carried.

   The Treasurer’s Report was given by Treasurer, Lorelei Rieken. Roth Schnoor made a motion to approve the Treasurer’s Report. Lauren Koehler seconded the motion. Motion carried. Bills were approved to be paid.

   Members were reminded that they need to enroll in 4-H Online 2.0 prior to Dec. 31.

   A livestock clinic and YQCA training will be held on Jan. 19, 2023 at the Lawrence Center in Anamosa.  Members can register for the event in 4-H Online.

   Winter 4-H Camp was discussed, and Roth Schnoor shared his experiences at the camp last year.

   Presentations were given by John Leytem on “Bass Fishing Lures,” Emily Leytem on “Rabbits,” and Luke Leytem on “How to make a Stop Motion Video.” Recreation Leader Lake Schnoor led the club in a fun gift exchange game.

   The next Prairie Hill 4-H Club meeting will be held on Monday, Jan. 16 at the Youth Development Center. Hosts will be Keegan and Kylee McElmeel and Dalton Ricklefs.

   A motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Lincoln Schneiter and seconded by Miranda Rieken. The meeting concluded with the Pledge to the 4-H Flag, led by Adley Rahe.

   Pizza, punch and hot chocolate were enjoyed following the meeting.
