Scotch Grove Challengers

     The March meeting of the Scotch Grove Challengers was called to order by President Lilly Stoll at 6 p.m. on March 6, 2022, at Monticello City Hall. The roll call topic was, “Favorite part of being in 4-H.” Eleven members, six visitors and three leaders were present. Cooper Wickman led the Pledge to the American Flag.

     Aedan Althoff gave the secretary’s report, Davin Wickman made the motion to approve the secretary’s report seconded by Reagan Stoll, motion carried. Paige Rickels gave the treasurer's report.

     Old Business: The club was reminded to enroll in 4-H. The club was reminded to sign up for the band app.

     New Business: The club was presented with membership awards for years in 4-H. The club discussed its fundraiser on March 5 at the Berndes Center, for the cleanup for the School Foundation Tailgate. Livestock clinics were discussed. The club discussed hosting the meetings, March’s host was Jorja Jacobs and April’s will be the Wickman family. Upcoming camps and trips were discussed. Jones county 4-H scholarships were discussed; they are due March 31. The Swine Weigh-In will take place on April 2 at 8 a.m. The Sheep and Goat Weigh-In takes place on April 30 at 8:30 a.m. There will be a horticulture event April 26 at 6:30 p.m.

     Lilly Stoll gave a presentation on taking care of chickens. Reagan Stoll had a presentation on baking peanut butter cookies. The pledge to the 4-H flag was led by Davin Wickman. The meeting ended at 6:40 p.m.
