Scotch Grove Challengers

The regular meeting of the Scotch Grove Challengers was held at the Monticello Renaissance Center in Monticello on Feb. 4, 2018.

President Tommy Dirks called the meeting to order at 4:02 p.m. Twenty-two members answered the roll call topic, “Name something red.” Fifteen guests were present. Paige Rickels led the Pledge of Allegiance. Will Wolken read the secretary’s report. There were no additions or corrections. Autry Fasnacht made the motion to approve the secretary’s report and Joseph Schrader seconded. Motion carried. Kacie Rickels provided the treasurer’s report. Davin Wickman moved to approve the treasurer’s report and Cooper Wickman seconded. Motion carried.

Old business: Members discussed possible fundraising ideas of Casey’s pizza and doughnut cards. Possible wedding cleanup in November. Leader Sally Hinrichsen reminded everyone to check the Facebook page, Scotch Grove Challengers 4H Club.

New business: YQCA and LPR changes – Extension will send out more information. Basketball changes – Half of the team can be friends of the 4-Hers. The date for basketball is March 3 at Monticello Middle School.

The 4-H Clothing and Communications Events is in May, but we need a member to do this, or else we will not be able to play sports next year.

The fair theme this year is “Welcome Home.” Be sure to double check that you are signed up for project areas you plan to do a project in. All livestock must be identified in 4-HOnline – the sooner the better.

Royce Kiburz made the motion to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Tate Jesenovec.  The meeting ended at 4:21 p.m.

Presentations were given by Annie Schlarmann, Haili Scharmann, Kinzi Schlarmann, Keziah McQuillen, Lilly Stoll, Paige Rickels and Kacie Rickels.
