Scotch Grove Challengers

     The March meeting of the Scotch Grove Challengers was called to order by President Katie Roher at 6 p.m. on March 7, 2021, via Zoom. Fifteen members and two leaders were present. Kacie Rickels led the Pledge to the American Flag.

     Aedan Althoff gave the secretary’s report, Lilly Stoll made the motion to approve the secretary’s report, seconded by Steven Bader, motion carried. Kacie Rickels gave the treasurer’s report. Steven Bader made the motion to approve the treasurer’s report, seconded by Lilly Stoll, motion carried.

     Old Business: First-year members have until May 15th to enroll online. There is a swine weigh-in scheduled for Saturday, April 10 from 8 to 10 a.m. The sheep & goat weigh-in is scheduled for April 24 from 8 to 10 a.m.

     New Business: YQCA certifications are due July 1 to show the beef cattle, dairy cattle, goats, sheep, swine, poultry, and rabbits. Take YQCA online at http://yqca.org/ Use your 4hOnline information. This costs $12 annually per youth. Horse and Dog workshops are scheduled – see a 4H newsletter. Broiler/Rooster orders are due May 1. Pullorum testing is scheduled for June 12 from 8 to 11 a.m. A Dairy Goat Showing and Fitting Clinic is scheduled for May 8 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Jones County 4-H Scholarships; see the 4H newsletter for more details. Be sure to check the newsletter, county website, and your email for any updates.

     Steven Bader made the motion to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Lilly Stoll, motion carried. The Pledge to the 4-H Flag was led by Paige Rickels. The meeting ended at 6:18 p.m.
