Scotch Grove Challengers

     The December meeting of the Scotch Grove Challengers 4-H Club was called to order by President Kristen Roher at 6 p.m. on Dec. 1, 2019 at the Monticello Renaissance Center. There were nine visitors and 17 members at the meeting. The Pledge to the American Flag was led by Royce Kiburz. The Secretary’s Report was given by Aedan Althoff; Royce Kiburz made the motion to approve the Secretary’s Report, and it was seconded by Davin Wickman. Kacie Rickels gave the Treasurer’s Report, Royce Kiburz made the motion to approve the Treasurer’s Report and it was seconded by Davin Wickman.

     Old Business: The position of Reporter was filled by Aedan Althoff. Re-enrollment started Sept, 3, Please enroll ASAP. Information on the “Remind” app was given; we will still use Facebook and emails.

     New Business: The Extension office will visit our club meeting in April. Members were encouraged to ask for an ISU Extension Gift Certificate. There was a 4-H Judge Training on Dec. 14, and parents of members were encouraged to go. The State Beef Weigh-in will be Dec. 21, and the county beef weigh in will be Dec. 28. The Clothing and Communication will be on Saturday, May 2. The Healthy Living Club Challenge began Jan. 1. There will be a New Year’s Eve party at noon on Dec. 31, open to all youth, preK through sixth grades and families. The club discussed the citizenship Washington trip; the deadline to register is Jan. 14 for grades 7-12. The club was given information on Teens Teaching Tech for grades 9-12; meeting on Dec. 9 at 6:00 p.m. Junior 4-H lock-in will be on Feb. 28; more details to follow. The club was given an update on fundraising. Royce Kiburz made the motion to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Davin Wickman. The meeting ended at 6:45 p.m. For the remainder of the meeting, the club wrapped presents for a HACAP family.
