Scotch Grove Challengers

     The January meeting of the Scotch Grove Challengers was called to order by President Kristen Roher, at 6:03 p.m. on Jan. 5, 2020, at the Monticello Renaissance Center. Roll call topic was favorite winter break activity. Seventeen members and 11 visitors were present. The Pledge to the American Flag was led by Ryker Hein.

     Aedan Althoff gave the Secretary’s Report, Royce Kiburz made the motion to approve the secretary’s report seconded by Tyler Soppe, motion carried. Kacie Rickels gave the Treasurer’s Report, Royce Kiburz made the motion to approve the Treasurer’s Report, seconded by Cooper Wickman, motion carried.

     Old Business: 4-H enrollment opened in September, please do ASAP. Communication/Clothing Day will be on May 2. Citizenship Washington focus for High Schoolers; the deadline to register is January 17th.

     New Business: Teens Teaching Tech informational meeting is on Jan. 23 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Junior 4-H & friends lock-in will be Feb. 28-29 – there are more details to follow. T-shirt order forms are due on April 1. The FAST project workday is on Monday, Feb. 17. Please RSVP by Feb. 10. There is a beef project workshop on Jan. 28. Internships are opening in May and ending in August. The Iowa swine workshop & judging contest is on Jan. 23. YQCA certification is due July 1. There will be a Storywalk at Central Park; do we want to sponsor a pole? The club was given an update on fundraising.

     Ryker Hein made the motion to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Davin Wickman, motion carried. The Pledge to the 4-H Flag was led by Davin Wickman. The meeting ended at 6:35.
