The Tailgate Party hosted by Above & Beyond Home Health & Hospice Aug. 24 raised more than $6,000 into a fund for all Monticello activities, grades 7-12, to have sack lunches for away events.

The event drew about 700 people who donated a total $3,000, and Above & Beyond matched that amount.

Becky Cooper of Above & Beyond said the employees and several students put hours of work into the decorations, and organizing the details. Scott Brighton from Advantage Home Medical provided the “heavy” work. Hillside Sports Bar & Grill and Darrell’s Catering donated the food, and many other volunteers helped set up, assisted during the event, and “made cleanup a breeze,” Cooper said.

“We thank you for supporting the Monticello youth and extracurricular activities,” she said.
