Almost Famous wins awards at Davenport event
Almost Famous Dance Studio competed in the Tribute Dance Competition in Davenport on Jan. 24-26. AFD competed against other studios from Iowa and Illinois.
Specialty awards that Almost Famous received:
Happy Birthday Production was the highest scoring Honor Level routine out of the entire weekend.
Burnin Love Lyrical, choregraphed by Amanda Hackney and Kaitlyn Hunt, received a choreo award.
Son of a Preacher Jazz, choreographed By Melissa Ehrisman and Andrea Rundle, received a choreo award.
Annie Schlarmann received a Special Angels Award.
Tiny (Ages 3-5) and Mini Ages (6-8) teams: Grease second, Cinderella fifth, Candyland eighth.
Tiny Solo: Jillian Miller fifth, Skylar Freeze sixth.
Juniors (Ages 9-11): When You Believe sixth, Ah Paris seventh, Uptown Girl ninth.
Junior Elite: Golden Slumbers seventh, duet of Sadie Erion and Kaylee Hollenbach fifth.
Teen (Ages 12-14): Take It All fifth overall, We Will Rock You ninth overall, Push fifth in Large Group, Renegade ninth in Large Group.
Teen Elite: Hold My Hand fourth in Large Group, The Freshman fourth in Small Group.
Teen Solo: Cameron Vargason ninth.
Teen Duets: Kaylin Noll and Cheyenne Byrd third; Kendra Davis and Leah Smith 10th.
Senior (Ages 15-18): I’ll Be first in Large Group; Son of a Preacher third in Large Group, Womanizer first in Small Group, Burnin Love second in Small Group.
Senior Elite: Quiet third.
Senior Duets: Sam Recker and Claire Tuetken second.
Senior Solo: Claire Tuetken first, Ally Bartachek eighth, Kelsey Adams ninth, Brady Theisen ninth.
Production: Happy Birthday first.
