Staff and incarcerated individuals at the Anamosa State Penitentiary donated $3,600 to the Shop with a Cop event held at the Anamosa Wal-Mart on Monday, Dec. 9.

Funds were raised by donations from AFSCME Local 2994, Anamosa State Penitentiary Museum, ASP CERT (Correctional Emergency Response Team), ASP ERC (Employee Relations Committee), as well as donations from staff employed by the Anamosa State Penitentiary, Iowa Prison Industries, and the ASP Kirkwood Team.

Funds were also raised through a craft and bake sale that included donations of handcrafted items from incarcerated individuals from the ASP Maintenance Department.

The Anamosa State Penitentiary will be represented by several staff and their families by pairing up with a child at the Shop with a Cop event.
