Awards, coronations and more offered at Dairy Banquet

     Dairy awards and scholarships, coronations and ventriloquist Dale Brown were all part of the Jones County Dairy Banquet, held Saturday, Feb. 11 in the Berndes Center in Monticello.

     New royalty was selected by the Jones County Dairy Board, including Grace Gadient of Monticello, Jones County Dairy Princess; Kylee McElmeel of Monticello, Little Miss Squirt; and Drew Ricklefs of Monticello, Little Sir Dairyman.

     Milk awards were presented for farms that exceeded state averages. Among the award-winners:

     Ayrshire – Jim and Judy Heims, M&M Tri-Mac (McNamara Family).

     Brown Swiss – Doug and Jodi Fairbanks.

     Holstein – Doug and Jodi Fairbanks, Kevin Steiner, Coonridge Holsteins, M&M Tri-Mac, Stoll Farms, Inc.

     Jersey – Doug and Jodi Fairbanks, M&M Tri-Mac.

     Also awarded on Saturday were scholarships to Monticello’s Gavin Timm and Grace Gadient.

     Dinner was provided by Marilyn’s Catering and the Jones County Pork Producers. An invocation was led by Pastor Doug DiBell.

     Presenters included Robert Stoll, Bruce Telleen, Jani Telleen and Julie Miller.
