Banquet celebrates Panther team, individual achievements
Monticello’s outstanding high school wrestling season was celebrated during the team’s annual awards banquet March 30 at the Berndes Center.
The Panthers were 18-4 in dual meets, finishing second in the River Valley Conference North Division. Monticello is a total of 40-8 over the last two years.
Much of it was a celebration of senior Chase Luensman, who ended his high school career as a four-time state tournament qualifier and three-time state medalist, and is Monticello’s all-time leader in career wins, career takedowns, and season takedowns.
