Bergman wins season's final football contest

     Kevin Bergman of Monticello was the only contestant to miss just three games this week in the Express Football Contest, and claimed the top prize, $15. Several contestants missed four games and we ended up with a tie for second place.

     Both Norb Hunt and Carol Oberfoell, also of Monticello, had identical tiebreaker scores of 49, just one point off the Panther game score of 48. Those two will split the $10 prize.

     Others missing four games and their tiebreaker scores were Mike Jacobs (46), Paul Kuehn (45), Steve Kuehn (42), Shirley Stecklein (57), Ed Stecklein (58), Matt Like (58), Duane Truesdell (60), Loras Faber (35) and sponsor Amy Hermsen (32) of Stephen Motors. Our other sponsor, Karen Verhagen of F&M Bank, missed 9 games.

     Winners can pick up their checks at the Express; the final contest of the year had 51 entries.
