Big & Rich, Thomas Rhett tickets go on sale Jan. 20

     The Great Jones County Fair has announced the opening act for county music artist Thomas Rhett.

     Famed country music duo Big & Rich will open the show on Friday, July 21 at 8 p.m.

     Tickets for the concert go on sale Friday, Jan. 20, at 10 a.m. Track SRO (standing-room only) tickets are $49; amphitheater and bleacher seats are $39.

     Rhett was known as a songwriter for his fellow country peers before he made it big as a performer himself. He’s written hits for Jason Aldean, Lee Brice, and Florida Georgia Line.

     His two albums “It Goes Like This” (2013) and “Tangled Up” (2015) have produced multiple hit singles like “Beer with Jesus,” “Make Me Wanna,” “Crash and Burn,” “Die a Happy Man,” “T-Shirt” and “Vacation.”

     His singles have remained on the country charts of several weeks. In fact, “Die a happy Man,” released in September 2015, stayed at number one on the Country Airplay chart for eight weeks. This was the second song in the country chart’s history to reach this milestone.

     Rhett has toured the nation with well-known country artists, many of whom have also appeared on stage at the GJCF: Lady Antebellum, Florida Georgia Line, Jason Aldean, and Miranda Lambert.

     Rhett has also been nominated for numerous American Country Music, iHeartRadio Music, CMT Music, Country Music Association, and Billboard Music awards.

     Big & Rich (Big Kenny Alphin and John Rich) have been on the rebel country music scene since the mid-2000s.

     They’ve produced five studio albums and collaborated over the years with many artists: Gretchen Wilson, Martina McBride, Jason Aldean, Faith Hill, Wynonna Judd, Cowboy Troy, and Jewel.

     The duo took a break and produced separate albums from 2008-11, while also focusing on their families.

     Their albums include: “Horse of a Different Color” (2004), “Comin’ to Your City” (2005), “Between Raising Hell and Amazing Grace” (2007), “Hillbilly Jedi” (2012), and “Gravity” (2014).

     Through out years, Big & Rich have also been nominated for CMA, ACM, and CMT awards.
