Blood drive a success despite winter weather

Letter to the Editor

To the Editor and Community of Monticello,

Thank you to the Monticello community for their overwhelming response to the Monticello Rotary-sponsored American Red Cross Blood Drive on Jan. 23.

Despite the winter weather conditions, we collected 85 pints of blood, potentially saving the lives of 173 individuals. Monticello is a very supportive community, and words cannot express how thankful we are to the donors that took time out of their busy schedules to donate. Along with blood donors, we would like to thank everyone who donated cookies, meat and cheese trays, and their time to volunteer at the drive.

Be sure and look for the Monticello Lions-sponsors American Red Cross Blood Drive coming up in the near future.

Sincerely,

Leann Herman and Jon Kyte
