The Nov. 25 meeting of the Monticello School Board was about moving people around.

During the board’s annual organizational meeting, it said goodbye to stepping-down member Dave Melchert, and hello to newly-elected member Amanda Brenneman, while also re-greeting John Schlarmann, who was re-elected to the board.

It also held elections for president and vice president of the board, voting Schlarmann as board president and Craig Stadtmueller as vice president. Bud Johnson, the former board president, chose not to be among the candidates for president due to family reasons.

Also sworn in were Judy Hayen as returning board secretary and Marcie Gillmore as returning board treasurer.

Other aspects of the meeting involved no changes. The board will continue to meet on the fourth Monday of every month at 6 p.m. for its regular meeting, and conduct a work session the second Wednesday of every month, also at 6 p.m.

It also retained its past depositories, legal counsel, and the Monticello Express as its official publication.

In other board business:

• Held a public hearing on the Instructional Support Program Levy, during which no public comments were received.

• The board later approved the Instructional Support Program Levy resolution of participation. The board approved the participation for one year, so it can revisit it each time.
