Book Angel program benefits Midland students

The Friends of the Wyoming Public Library is sponsoring the Midland Book Angel program.

To participate, purchase a book for $10 or less for a student in grades preschool through eighth and drop it off at participating locations:

     • Wyoming Public Library

     • Midland School offices

     • Citizens State Bank, Wyoming

     • Ohnward Bank & Trust

The goal is to collect 300 books so the district can send one book home with every single elementary student in the Midland School District, as well as make some books available for students in grades sixth through eighth.

The Friends of the Wyoming Library is teaming up with Midland PATS (Parents And Teachers for Students) organization and the banks within the district to accomplish their goal.

They will accept donations of books or monetary donations through Nov. 30. You can also purchase books online via their Book Angel wish list at http://a.co/82YSKtS.

Books will be distributed to the students on Dec. 16 at school.

This is an excellent way to give back to the local community. It can be a great educational opportunity to involve children in the giving process. It is a great reminder to all what the true meaning of Christmas really is.
