Bowman, Porter exchange vows

      Amanda and Simon Porter of Christchurch, New Zealand, exchanged wedding vows August 12, 2017 at Wayne Zion Lutheran Church, Monticello, officiated by Pastor Wade Reddy.

      The bride is the daughter of Michael and Deborah Bowman of Monticello.  She is the granddaughter of Roger & Jennie Stewart of Maquoketa and Hugh Bowman of Maquoketa.

      The groom is the son of Dereck and Janie Porter.

      Music was provided by Janice Vetter, organist.

      Bridal flowers carried white roses.

      The Maid of Honor was Andrea Janssen.

      Bridesmaids were Rebecca Stonawski (Bride’s sister), Elizabeth Feist (Bride’s sister) and Kate Strittmatter.

      The flower girls were Zuzana Stonawski, Gabriela Stonawski, Eloise Feist, Morgan Sanderson and Hazel Swaney.

      Usherettes were Alicia Wright and Leina Masek. Usher was Joel Coleman.  

      The Best Man was Adam Sharlick.

      Groomsmen were Daniel Porter (Groom’s brother), Alastair Stewart and Bid East.

      The ring bearer was Benjamin Feist.

      Readers were Lauren Sanderson & Deborah Swaney (Groom’s sister).   

      A reception, dinner and dance were held following the ceremony at Diamond Jo Casino in Dubuque. 

      The Bride’s cake was a 4-tier cake.

      For the couple's honeymoon, they will travel to South Africa - Safari.

      The dinner rehearsal was on August 11, 2017 at the Jitney in Monticello.

      The bride is employed at IAG Insurance.

      The groom is employed at Linden Leaves.
