Bradley’s ‘dark money’ spins the truth about Hein

Letter to the Editor

To the Editor,

You have two conservative legislators in the race to represent Jones and Jackson counties: Lee Hein and Steve Bradley. We are both long-time conservative legislators and Chairmen of two key House committees. We serve with both Hein and Bradley.

We know that both candidates are strongly pro-life, pro-Second Amendment conservatives. But only Steve Bradley and his “dark money” buddies are deliberately distorting the record of Lee Hein for political gain. Steve Bradley and his friends, the so-called Americans for Prosperity group (a Koch brothers-funded corporate swamp entity), are running a daily campaign of half-truths. But, here is the really disturbing part, the Koch brothers’ dark money group supporting Bradley has found a loophole where they can campaign for Bradley while the legislature is still in session. This entire situation smells, and literally, tens of thousands of out-of-state money is pouring into this legislative race. And, of course, Bradley denies any involvement.

Besides being in bed with the Koch brothers, Steve Bradley simply makes things up to make himself look good. Bradley voted “no” to a biofuel bill because the Koch brothers’ group undoubtedly told him to do so. Then Bradley literally makes up a story about working with the Senate to come up with a compromise bill. We are both leaders in the House and Bradley had NOTHING to do with the biofuel compromise. He lied. We know. We were there.

If you want a conservative representative who doesn’t fib, spin the truth, and take their marching orders from dark money, non-Iowa groups, skip Bradley and vote for Lee Hein. He is a conservative and has integrity in Des Moines and on the campaign trail.
