Brainstorming session for Anamosa public art, Feb. 1

The City of Anamosa, in partnership with the Grant Wood Scenic Byway, will be hosting a brainstorming session on: Wednesday, Feb. 1 from 4-6 p.m. in the Anamosa Library and Learning Center.

This session will help Anamosa’s Project Art Advisory Committee determine a theme and design concept for a public art piece to be developed and installed in Anamosa in 2018.

This will be a one-of-a-kind art piece that will enhance Anamosa’s downtown, encouraging residents and travelers to slow down, improving the social and economic vitality of Anamosa, and fostering economic development for Anamosa’s businesses and residents.

The Anamosa project is one of 15 being implemented along Scenic Byways throughout Iowa by Byways of Iowa Foundation partners. Roughly 75 percent of travelers planning a trip to Iowa are interested in Scenic Byways and they spend more time and more money than any other traveler. Scenic Byway travelers also enjoy opportunities to enjoy authentic local art, historic sites, and culture.
