Camp Courageous awarded DRA grant

Camp Courageous has been awarded a 2019 grant from the Dubuque Racing Association (DRA) in the amount of $15,000. This grant will be applied toward the purchase and installation of heating and air conditioning split units in Menster Cabin and the Weepie Medical Department. The DRA grant committee members recognized the importance of this project and its importance of keeping campers cool during the summer’s extreme heat and warm in the colder months. This project will provide “zonal” heating and cooling to allow heating and cooling only in areas that are in use.

Last year, the DRA provided a grant toward the installation of a new roof and solar panels on the Camp Courageous Multipurpose building. The DRA has been good friends of Camp for many years, providing funding toward projects including the waste water treatment project, the Camp bowling alley, the indoor playground, a walk-in freezer and cooler, the Lake Todd Bridge, among many others.
