Camp Courageous benefits from DRA grant

Camp Courageous has been awarded a $25,000 grant from the Dubuque Racing Association. This grant will be applied toward the $750,000 wastewater treatment project. The DRA grant committee members recognized the necessity of this project and its importance for the over 7,000 individuals with special needs who attend camp each year.

Last year, the DRA provided a grant to help pay for a new two-lane bowling alley in the Durgin Pavilion.

The DRA has been good friends of Camp for many years, providing funding toward projects including the indoor sensory playground, a new cooler/freezer system for the storage and preservation of high quality food for the campers, a bridge and perimeter fence at Lake Todd, a bus and minibus, a water system for Camp, the purchase of defibrillators, keyless locks, building the jungle gym, and a sprinkler system in the staff dormitory.
