Cars from Alaska, Canada, Midwest on display at car show

This 1973 Ford is a replica of the original racecar owned by Jerry Naylor of Scotch Grove. This car is owned by Naylor and his son David.

The chamber ambassadors welcomed the celebrity guests to town on Feb. 25 at the O’Reilly Car Show.      KCRG-TV9 presented the 48th Annual O’Reilly Auto Parts Rod & Custom Car Show last weekend, Feb. 25 and 26, at the Monticello Berndes Center in Monticello, Iowa.

     Owners of winning entries received Casey’s General Store Trophies and Citizens State Bank cash awards, plus Hupy and Abraham travel money.

     Results are as follows:

Rod Category – first place, Art Pavlish, Rochester, Minn., 1993 Plymouth Coupe; second place, Steve Samuelson, Prior Lake, Minn., 1932 Ford Phaeton; third place, Mike Kraft, Manchester, Iowa, 1946 Plymouth Coupe; fourth place, Dave Lupella, White Lake, Wis., 1938 Ford Coupe.

Custom Category – first place, Byron Bode, Corcoran, Minn., 1959 Chevy Impala hardtop; second place, Shawn Wallace, Grande Prairie, Alberta, Canada, 1955 Chevy 210 Sedan; third place, Pat Curran, Moline, Ill., 1963 Plymouth Sport Fury; fourth place, Ralph Livingston, Garnavillo, Iowa, 1956 Chevy Bel Air Sedan.

Machine Category – first place, Jerry Rave, Manchester, Iowa, 1967 Chevy Nova SS hardtop; second place, Jake McAllister, Cascade, Iowa, 1969 Chevy Chevelle SS hardtop; third place, Ron Barker, Dubuque, Iowa, 1979 Chevy Nova SS Sedan; fourth place, Dan Howe, Lawler, Iowa, 1986 Chevy El Camino.
