Certain events score well in RVC Indoor Meet

   Strong individual and relay performances provided the highlights of the River Valley Conference Indoor Girls Track Meet for the Monticello Panthers.

   The meet was held March 21 at the University of Dubuque.

   “Marisa (Kehoe) had a nice night with two silver (medals),” Monticello coach Vallerie Lynn said.

   “But the highlight of the night was Alyvia (Husmann) jumping 4-10. Remember, she was out last season recovering from ACL surgery. So it was awesome to see her get right back to form again.”

   Husmann finished fifth in the high jump. Kehoe’s runner-up finishes were in the 800-meter run and as part of the 4x800 relay, with Ava Capron, Leah Koehler and Peyton Ries.

   As a team, the Panthers finished 10^th.

   “The meet in general was not our best night,” Lynn said. “We did not position ourselves to score a lot of points, but I do feel there were some events we should have scored in but did not.”

   The Panthers also had a third place finish in the distance medley relay with the team of Ava Zimmerman, Koye Jaeger, Ries and Capron.
