Citizens State Bank supports MDA

There are seven Citizens State Bank locations throughout Eastern Iowa that are raising money to help the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) support families living with muscular dystrophy, ALS, and related life-threatening diseases that limit strength and mobility by participating in the 36th Annual MDA Shamrocks program.

One of those Citizens State Banks is located in Monticello, 117 W. First St. The Shamrock program runs March 1-31.

The iconic MDA Shamrocks program allows customers at participating partners to celebrate the holiday in meaningful way.

The MDA Shamrocks program is the nation’s largest St. Patrick’s Day-themed fundraiser. This fundraising program allows kids and adults with life-threatening diseases to live the life they’ve always imagined and experience the world without any limits.

Recent major medical and scientific advancements, including the development of four new drugs that are now available treatment options, and the promise of more to come, make today the most promising time in the history of neuromuscular disease research and care – made possible in part by the funds raised and support given over the years to the MDA Shamrocks program.

Every dollar donated helps MDA provide life-enhancing program such as the state-of-the-art MDA Care Center at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, as well as Outreach Clinics throughout the State of Iowa. The MDA of Iowa also helps send more than 70 kids to “the best week of the year” at MDA Summer Camp at no cost to their families at Camp Courageous in Monticello.
