Coalition hosts marijuana listening online post

     The Jones County Safe and Healthy Youth Coalition, Area Substance Abuse Council, and the National Marijuana Initiative (NMI) are hosting an event together: “Unintended Consequences – A Listening Post on Marijuana, Vaping and Other Drugs.” The online webinar via Zoom will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 27.

     This one-hour online presentation will discuss the reality of today’s marijuana and how it has evolved since medical and commercial legalization. They will examine the unintended consequences and how they have impacted individuals and communities. They will examine youth usage rates, as well as addiction and mental health issues associated with today’s high potency marijuana. The presentation will touch on the various delivery methods as well as marijuana’s pathway to another Substance Use Disorder. This presentation is designed to educate attendees as to how to have an honest discussion about the marijuana that is currently available in today’s legal markets.

     Directions for the Zoom event:

     Enter the word “Class” (case sensitive) for both username and password.

     Select National HIDTA Assistance Center.

     Fill in the HOTT Online Application.

     Select Complete Registration.
