County employees give back to local communities

     This year, Jones County employees chose to donate $1,800 toward eight different organizations throughout the county.

     “We Can Make a Difference” is a donation program, established in 2005, made up of county employees who choose to contribute a portion of their bi-weekly paychecks towards a local cause. Each year around the holidays, donations are presented to several organizations.

     This year, donations of $225 each were presented to:

     • Anamosa Ministerial Association

     • Monticello Ministerial Association

     • Midland Council of Churches

     • Jones County JETS

     • Jones County Senior Dining

     • Chelsea’s Dream Foundation

     • Early out program at Wyoming Public Library

     • Monticello Public Library youth program
