The final sale price for the former Secondary Roads’ Wyoming Shop, located at 8220 County Road X-75, was $7,100 over the highest bid.

The building and property, comprised of three lots, went to Ryan Dodge for $24,200.

During the Jan. 30 Jones County Supervisor meeting, a public hearing was held for the sale. Five bidders were present for the hearing and submitted sealed bids ranging from $14,000 to $17,100.

The three highest bidders then had the option to raise their bids in a competition bidding process. Those three highest bids were: $16,000 from Ryan Dodge, $14,700 from Brett Harms, and $17,100 from Cory Taylor. (The two lowest bids were $14,000 from Sheldon Hunter and $12,650 from Jerry Sorgenfrey.)

Once given the opportunity to raise their bids, Harms declined. Dodge and Taylor continued to bid against one another until Taylor bowed out.

The Board of Supervisors approved the sale, with the deed to be issued after full payment was received.
