County supervisors make salary increase recommendations

     During their Feb. 9 board meeting, the Jones County Supervisors discussed and made several proposals regarding salary increases for county officials. These proposals for Fiscal Year 2022 are for budgetary purposes only at this time.

     The board will formally adopt the FY 2022 budget in late March.

     (Note: the salaries for deputies of elected officials do not require board action. Their salary increases are determined by the respective elected official.)

     The following are the proposed salary increases:

     • Board of Supervisors – 1.60 percent

     • Auditor – 1.60 percent

     • Treasurer – 2.80 percent

     • Attorney – 4.80 percent

     • Sheriff – 4.8 percent

     • Recorder – 2.80 percent

     • JETS Director – 2.75 percent, plus $1,000

     • Engineer – 4.80 percent

     • Conservation Director – 4.80 percent

     • Community Services Director – 4 percent

     • Senior Dining Director – 3 percent

     • Environmental Health Administrator – 3.99 percent

     • Veteran Affairs Administrator – 10.80 percent

     • Public Health Coordinator – 3 percent

     • IT Coordinator – 4.80 percent

     • GIS Coordinator – 3.20 percent

     • Road Maintenance Supervisor – 4.8 percent, plus $2,000 for bridge inspection duties

     • Jail Administrator – 3 percent

     • Communications Supervisor – 3 percent

     • Sheriff’s Office Manager – 3.20 percent

     • Assistant to Engineer – 4.80 percent

     • Engineer in Training – 1.56 percent

     • Conservation Ranger – 4.80 percent

     • Attorney Secretary – 4.80 percent

     • Secondary Road Office Manager – 4.40 percent

     • Conservation Naturalist – 4.80 percent

     • Conservation Natural Resource Manager – 4.80 percent

     • Conservation Office Manager – 5.98 percent

     • Public Health Preparedness Specialist – 5 percent

     • Community Health Specialist – 3 percent

     • Mental Health Region Social Worker – 4 percent

     • Mental Health Region Social Worker (part-rime) – 3 percent
