Couple to celebrate 50th anniversary

Carl (Chuck) and Mary Anne Willms of Monticello will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house on Saturday, Jan. 25 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Monticello Golf Club, hosted by their children and families. 

Carl Willms and Mary Anne Meade were married Jan. 24, 1970 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Monticello. 

They are the parents of Lisa and Dale Sperfslage, Tammy and Scott Sampson, Joshua and Rileigh Willms, all of Monticello, and Jackie and Matt Rychnovsky of Adel. 

They have nine grandchildren, Sonya and Kyle Sperfslage, Emmi and Cael Sampson, Grant, Owen and Harris Rychnovsky, and Berkley and Sullivan Willms. 

Mary Anne is a retired Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant and Chuck works at German Mutual Insurance as a Loss Control Specialist. 

In December, the couple celebrated with family on a vacation to the Smokey Mountains in Pigeon Forge, Tenn. and Louisville, Ky. The couple then went to Florida for a week together.
