•  Dustin Michael Gudenkauf, of Center Junction, pleaded guilty to a charge of possession of a controlled substance-third or subsequent offense. Gudenkauf was sentenced to seven days in jail and was fined $855 plus court costs. 

• Stephanie Lynn Martelli, 34, of Springville, was arrested at 11:19 p.m. Sept. 12 at the intersection of South Williams Street and East Second Street in Anamosa on a charge of possession of a controlled substance, second offense, interference with official acts and possession of drug paraphernalia. 

Court documents state Martelli was a passenger on a motorcycle whose driver fled from an Anamosa officer. During a pursuit, the driver crashed the motorcycle, after which he and Martelli attempted to flee on foot, documents state. Martelli obeyed commands to stop, the officer stated, and was taken into custody without incident. Investigating officers located marijuana in a bag near the crashed motorcycle. After receiving treatment for injuries sustained in the crash, Martelli was arrested, documents state.  

• Nathan Merrill Gracey, of Anamosa, was arrested at 3:30 p.m. Sept. 13 on charges of assault with intent to inflict serious injury and unlawful possession of a prescription drug. 

Court documents state Gracey was in custody in the Jones County Jail and got into an altercation with another inmate. A Jones County deputy observed video footage from Gracey’s cell and heard Gracey’s cellmate pass gas, which prompted Gracey to become upset, documents state. Documents state that after a verbal altercation, Gracey punched the victim in the back of the head and pushed him into the cell bars. 

• Jeffrey Allen Mull, of Anamosa, was arrested at 10:17 a.m. at his residence on a charge of domestic abuse assault-third or subsequent offense. 

Court documents state a deputy was dispatched to Mull’s home for a report of an assault. The victim told the deputy that Mull had beaten her using his fists and was “trying to kill her.” The deputy noted the victim had injuries to her body. 

• Nathan Merrill Gracey, of Anamosa, was arrested Sept. 12 on charges of eluding-second or subsequent violation, operating while under the influence-second offense, second-degree theft and possession of a controlled substance-third or subsequent offense. 

Court documents state an Anamosa officer saw Gracey on a motorcycle parked at an Anamosa gas station. The officer noted Gracey had a suspended license, did not possess a motorcycle endorsement and has a “lengthy criminal history,” charging document state. 

As the officer approached Gracey, he accelerated away, documents state, which prompted the officer to give chase. A short while later, Gracey crashed the motorcycle on East Second Street and ran on foot away from the motorcycle, documents state. 

“After losing sight of Gracy behind a residence, I doubled back to the front where I met Gracey again,” the officer states in court documents. “Holding him at gunpoint, I gave commands for him to get on the ground. Gracey complied and was taken into custody without incident.

The officer stated the motorcycle was affixed with a trailer plate that did not belong on it, and the vehicle identification number was scratched off. Gracey said he was test driving the bike before possibly purchasing it and said it belonged to someone else, documents state. 

A search of the motorcycle produced a bag containing marijuana and a glass drug pipe, documents state. 

• Brayan Jahir Soto Aguirre, of Mexico, was arrested at 11:57 p.m. Sept. 11 on a charge of OWI first offense. 

Court documents state a Monticello police officer was dispatched to find a possible drunk driver. The officer contacted Soto Aguirre and noted Soto Aguirre showed signs of intoxication, including watery, glossy eyes. The officer also noted a strong smell of alcohol coming from Soto Aguirre, documents state.
