Court Proceedings
• Jamie Lee Bickford, of Hopkinton, on July 14 pleaded guilty to a charge of driving while barred. Bickford was sentenced to 10 days in jail and fined $855.
• Joshua Patrick Cudahy, of Anamosa, was arrested July 3 on a charge of driving while barred. Court documents state a Monticello officer pulled Cudahy over on Pinehaven Drive, and he was found to be barred from driving.
• Jasmin Marie Adame Lopez, of Ottumwa, Iowa, pleaded guilty to a charge of conspiracy to commit a non-forcible felony. She received a suspended five-year jail sentence and was placed on supervised probation for two years. Adame Lopez was also fined $1,025 plus court costs, which was suspended.
• Crystal Marie McCaw, of Oxford Junction, pleaded guilty to charges of forgery and fourth-degree theft and received a deferred judgement. McCaw was placed on probation for two years and was fined $1,025.
• A charge of domestic abuse assault of a pregnant person against Jerit David Clark, of Maquoketa, was dismissed due to insufficient evidence, according to court documents.
• Joseph Frederick Killmer, of Monticello, was arrested July 9 on a charge of possession of contraband in a correctional institution. Court documents state a blue glove tip wrapped in a ball containing methamphetamine was “placed in Killmer’s mouth during a kiss” by a visitor at the Anamosa State Penitentiary. Killmer then tried to pass the drugs through a security checkpoint by hiding the drug in his hat, which is where the drugs were discovered, court documents state.
• Robert Lee Houck, of Cedar Rapids, pleaded guilty to a charge of violation of a no-contact order. A second charge of violation of a no-contact order was dismisses as part of a plea agreement. Houck was sentenced to two days in jail.
• Bryce Wade Orcutt, of Anamosa, was arrested July 10 on a charge of assault. Court documents state Orcutt kicked the victim in the stomach, leaving a mark.
• Gary Lee Wabashaw, of Omaha, Neb., was arrested July 12 on a charge of public intoxication. Court documents state Wabashaw entered the lobby at the Anamosa State Penitentiary to visit an inmate and showed signs of intoxication. Open containers of alcohol were located in his vehicle, documents state.
• Dustin Douglas McWhortor, of Anamosa, pleaded guilty to OWI-third or subsequent offense and was sentenced to five years in prison, with all but 30 days suspended. McWhortor was also placed on supervised probation for three years and fined $3,125.
