•  Orlando Gerald Rodriguez Mojena, 26, of Platteville, Wis., pleaded guilty to a charge of sex offender registry requirement violation.

Rodriguez Mojena received an 18--day jail sentence, which was suspended, and was fined $855 plus court costs.

 

• Justin Adrian Christiansen, 40, of Bettendorf, pleaded guilty to a charge of possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) - third or subsequent offense.

Christiansen received a 5-year jail sentence, which was suspended. He was placed on three years of supervised probation and was fined $1,025 plus court costs.

 

• Naome Anetta Wells, 31, of Monticello, pleaded guilty to a charge of interference with officials acts.

Wells was ordered to pay court costs and was given credit for time served in jail.

 

• Justin Dean Tjaden, 35, of Cedar Rapids, pleaded guilty to a charge of assault -- contact insulting or offensive.

Tjaden was fined $105 plus court costs.

 

• Garrett Dale McCoy, 23, of Monticello, was arrested Nov. 14 on a charge of public intoxication.

Court documents state police found an intoxicated McCoy creating a disturbance in a downtown Monticello alleyway around 10:30 Nov. 14. After advising him to go home and leaving, the officer returned several minutes later to find McCoy still in the alley. McCoy showed signs of intoxication, documents state, and had a blood alcohol concentration above the legal limit.

 

• Akia Monique Hudson, 28, of Davenport, pleaded guilty to a charge of possession of cannabidiol.

Hudson received a deferred judgement and was placed on one year of probation and was fined $430 plus court costs.

 

• Michael John Russell, 22, of Monticello, was arrested Nov. 14 on a charge of OWI first offense.

Court documents state authorities received calls about a wrong-way driver on U.S. 151 near Langworthy at 10:42 p.m. Nov. 13. A deputy came upon Russell’s vehicle, a 2017 Ford F-150, driving south in the northbound lanes near the intersection with E23 near Anamosa, documents state. The deputy swerved to avoid a collision before turning around and pulling the vehicle over. While speaking with Russell, the deputy noted he showed signs of intoxication, including lethargic speech and water, bloodshot eyes, documents state. Russell admitted to drinking and said he believed he was headed southbound to Monticello from Cascade, according to charging documents. Russell failed a field sobriety test, and his blood alcohol content was above the legal level, documents state.
