Court Proceedings

• Tyler Matthew Bishop, of Clarence, pleaded guilty to a charge of driving while barred. Bishop was fined $855 plus court costs.

• Alisin Marie Scofield, of Martelle, pleaded guilty to a charge of third-degree criminal mischief. Scofield was sentenced to seven days in jail and was fined $855 plus court costs. 

• Tyler Mason Kula, of Hopkinton, pleaded guilty to a charge of driving while barred. Kula was sentenced to 30 days in jail and fined $855. 

• Eugene Robert Rickels, of Hopkinton, pleaded guilty to a charge of possession of a controlled substance. A second charge of possession of a controlled substance was dismissed as part of a plea deal. Rickels was sentenced to two days in jail and fined $855 plus court costs. 

• Zachary John Norton, of Central City, pleaded guilty to a charge of driving while barred. Norton was sentenced to 10 days in jail and fined $855 plus court costs. 

• Erik Alex Taylor, of Monticello, pleaded guilty to driving while barred. Taylor was sentenced to 40 days in jail and fined $855 plus court costs. 

• Joshua Patrick Cudahy, of Scotch Grove, pleaded guilty to a charge of driving while barred. Cudahy was sentenced to four days in jail and find $855 plus court costs. 

• Orlando Gerald Rodriguez Mojena, of Langworthy, was arrested Aug. 19 on two counts of sex offender verification violation. Court documents state a complainant reported an individual who appeared to be living in a rural Anamosa storage unit. Deputies arrived at the unit and noticed a light on inside and observed a vehicle owned by Rodriguez parked outside, but no one answered the door. Court documents state Rodriguez’s listed address is not the storage unit, and due to him being a registered sex offender in Iowa, Rodriguez is required to report any change of address. Rodriguez admitted to law enforcement that he was living at the storage unit and reported he was driving a school bus he owned that he also did not report to the registry --also a violation of state law, documents state. 

• Bryce Wade Orcutt, of Monticello, pleaded guilty to a charge of assault. Orcutt was fined $105 plus court costs. 

• Camden Ogren McCollaugh, of Dubuque, pleaded guilty to a charge of public intoxication. McCollaugh was fined $105 plus court costs. 

• Keegan Thomas Vaughn, of Davenport, pleaded guilty to a charge of interference with official acts. A charge of public intoxication was dismissed as part of the plea deal. Vaughn was fined $250 plus court costs.

• Mandi Marie Smoldt, of Cedar Rapids, was arrested Aug. 20 on a charge of fifth-degree theft. Court documents state Smoldt took a bottle of vodka valued at $3.99 from an Anamosa convenience store without paying. Smoldt denied the allegation, documents state.

• Richard Alan Schramm Jr., of Dubuque, pleaded guilty to a charge of fourth-degree theft. Schramm Jr. was sentenced to six days in jail and fined $430 plus court costs. 

• Cynthia Ann Chapman, of Anamosa, was arrested Aug. 21 on a charge of domestic abuse assault. Court documents state an Anamosa police officer was dispatched to a report of an assault. Documents state Chapman grabbed the victim’s shirt, hit the victim in the face and spit in the victim’s face during an argument. 

• Robert Reno Entsminger, of Marion, pleaded guilty to a charge of OWI first offense and received a deferred judgement. Entsminger was placed on one year of probation and fined $625 plus court costs. 

• Josiah Matthew Kline, of Anamosa, pleaded guilty to OWI second offense. Kline was sentenced to 10 days in jail and fined $1,875 plus court costs. 

• Bryan Joseph Rubner, of Mechanicsville, pleaded guilty to OWI first offense and received a deferred judgement. Rubner was fined $1,000 plus court costs and placed on one year of probation. 

• Jesse Alvarez, of Cedar Rapids, was arrested Aug. 24 on charges of OWI third or subsequent offense, driving while barred and operating without an interlock device. Court documents state authorities responded to the intersection of county roads E23 and x44 around 4 p.m. Aug. 24 for a report of a motorist passed out in a vehicle on the side of the road. Alvarez was in the driver’s seat of a vehicle and exhibited signs of intoxication, documents state. An open container of alcohol was also located in the vehicle, documents state.
