Cubs' season ends at Key West
The semi-pro baseball season came to an end for the Monticello Cubs with a loss to a tough Key West team, by a score of 16-0, Aug. 12 at Key West.
The Ramblers scored seven runs in the bottom of the second inning to take an 8-0 lead, and then added eight more runs over the next three innings.
Monticello was held to four hits. Tanner Felton went 2-for-3 with a double. Going 1-for-3 were Jay Ahlrichs and Garett Hanken.
Starting pitcher Tyler Smith worked the first four innings and took the loss. Jaden Moore pitched the last two in relief.
The Cubs ended the season with an overall record of 8-12.
