Dales Ford Road public hearing set

A public hearing regarding possible construction on Dales Ford Road will take place later this month. 

The Jones County Supervisors set the hearing for 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 17 in the courthouse board room. 

“This public hearing is to discuss any type of plans we’d like to see moving forward as far as a grading project, and then the scop and size of that project if there is a desie to move forward,” Jones County Engineer Derek Snead said. 

The county has addressed portions of the road in the past, but Snead said the road has bad drainage and is often wet due to a thick tree canopy over portions of it.

Snead said work could span the gamut of small improvements to drainage to raising the surface of the road to possible right-of-way acquisition to enhance ditches. 

Members of the public can attend the public hearing to voice their thoughts on the matter.
