District Court

Matthew John Peterson, Anamosa, pleaded guilty to two counts of possession of methamphetamine 2nd offense. He was fined a total of $1,250 plus court costs, and sentenced to 40 days in jail. 

Cassaundra Jo Merta, Cedar Rapids, was charged with possession of methamphetamine 2nd offense. A preliminary hearing is set for May 3. 

Logan Eric Egge, Olin, pleaded guilty to 4th degree criminal mischief. He was fined $315 plus court costs, and sentenced to five days in jail. The sentence was suspended, and Egge was placed on unsupervised probation for one year. 

John Christopher Jacobson, Olin, pleaded not guilty to 3rd degree burglary. A jury trial is set for July 23. 

Juan Genaro Capetillo, Anamosa, pleaded not guilty to obstruction-prosecution/ defense, 4th degree criminal mischief, unlawful possession of prescription drug, and two counts of forgery. A jury trial is set for June 25. 

Hunter Gunnard Linne, Creston, was charged with 3rd degree criminal mischief, three counts of trespassing, three counts of 2nd degree criminal mischief, and two counts of 4th degree criminal mischief. An arraignment is set for April 29. 

Anthony Michael Padillo, Anamosa, was charged with 3rd degree criminal mischief, three counts of trespassing, three counts of 2nd degree criminal mischief, and two counts of 4th degree criminal mischief. An arraignment is set for April 29. 

John Lee Ralston, Monmouth, pleaded not guilty to sex offender-verification violation 2nd offense and assault causing bodily injury/mental illness. A jury trial is set for July 23. 

Russell James Beddingfield, Urbana, was charged with domestic abuse assault. An arraignment is set for May 13. 

Beau James Ludley, Anamosa, was charged with forgery. An arraignment is set for May 6. 

Ricky Lee Bauer, Olin, was charged with prohibited acts. A preliminary hearing is set for April 26. 

Justin Adrian Christiansen, Oxford Junction, was charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of marijuana 1st offense. A preliminary hearing is set for May 1. 

C K Leon Schaffer- Maloney, Springville, was charged with OWI 1st offense, possession of marijuana 1st offense, and possession of methamphetamine 1st offense. A preliminary hearing is set for May 7. 

Lauren Nicole Ward, Cedar Rapids, pleaded guilty to an amended charge of 5th degree theft. She was fined $65 plus court costs and ordered to pay $400 in victim restitution. 

Jacob Evans Heideman, Anamosa, pleaded guilty to possession/carrying dangerous weapons while under the influence. Judgment was deferred, and he was placed on unsupervised probation for one year. Heideman was ordered to pay a civil penalty of $315 plus court costs. He had a charge of assault on persons in certain occupations, dismissed. 

James Alan Loehr, Anamosa, pleaded not guilty to assault causing bodily injury/mental illness. A jury trial is set for July 23. 

Nicole Elaine Handel, Anamosa, was charged with possession of marijuana 1st offense. An arraignment is set for May 6. 

Michael Robert Knight, Oxford Junction, pleaded guilty to OWI 1st offense. Judgment was deferred, and he was placed on unsupervised probation for one year. He was ordered to pay a civil penalty of $1,250 plus court costs. 

Grover Jay Qunn, Jr., Olin, pleaded guilty to OWI 1st offense. He was sentenced to two days in jail, and fined $1,250 plus court costs. 

Larry James Scofield, Anamosa, was arrested for OWI 3rd offense and driving while license denied/ revoked. No court date was set.
