District Court

Beau James Ludley, Cascade, pleaded guilty to driving while barred and eluding. He was sentenced to 60 days in jail, and fined a total of $1,250 plus court costs. The fines were suspended, and Ludley was placed on supervised probation for one year. 

Grover J. Quinn, Oxford Junction, pleaded guilty to assault with intent to inflict serious injury. He was sentenced to five days in jail, and fined $1,000 plus court costs. 

Michael Allen Pearson, Martelle, pleaded not guilty to possession of controlled substance 2nd offense (methamphetamine) and possession of marijuana 1st offense. A jury trial is set for April 21. 

Mathew Kenneth Koob, Anamosa, was charged with domestic abuse assault-intent to inflict serious injury. A preliminary hearing is set for Feb. 5. 

Thomas Arthur Coyle, Springville, was arrested for unlawful possession of prescription drug, possession of marijuana 2nd offense, and driving while barred. No court date was set. 

Kyle Brandon Orcutt, Anamosa, was arrested for possession of burglar’s tools. No court date was set. 

Joshua Orin Bailey, Olin, pleaded guilty to the lesser offense of failure to comply with sex offender registry requirements 1st offense. He was sentenced to 60 days in jail, and fined $625 plus court costs. The fine was suspended. 

Joshua Joe Neal, Elwood, pleaded guilty to eluding a law enforcement vehicle and assault with intent to inflict serious injury. He was sentenced to two years in prison, and fined a total of $1,250 plus court costs. The fines were suspended, and Neal was ordered to pay victim restitution in the amount of $1,000. He had charges of 1st degree criminal mischief and driving while barred, dismissed. 

Brenda Lee Sinclair, Indianola, pleaded guilty to the lesser offense of unlawful possession of prescription drug. She was sentenced to one year in jail, and fined $315 plus court costs. The sentence was suspended, and Sinclair was placed on probation for 30 days. 

Chett Aaron Miracle, Maquoketa, pleaded guilty to failure to affix drug stamp and possession of marijuana 1st offense. Judgment was deferred, and he was placed on supervised probation for three years. He was ordered to pay civil penalties totaling $750 plus court costs. Miracle had charges of controlled substance violation (marijuana) and possession of cannabidoil 1st offense, dismissed. 

Shawn Yamon Flowers, Anamosa, pleaded not guilty to gathering where controlled substances are used, possession of methamphetamine 1st offense, possession of marijuana 1st offense, and gathering where marijuana is used. A jury trial is set for March 17. 

Christopher Owen Brissett, Maquoketa, pleaded not guilty to 2nd degree theft. A jury trial is set for April 21. 

Jonathan Wayne Risinger, Anamosa, pleaded guilty to assault causing bodily injury. He was sentenced to two days in jail, and fined $315 plus court costs. 

Charles Leroy Fellers, Monticello, pleaded guilty to driving while license revoked. He was sentenced to two days in jail and fined $315 plus court costs. 

Valerie Leeann Keppel, Cedar Rapids, pleaded not guilty to possession of marijuana 1st offense. A jury trial is set for March 31. 

Quinton Aundra Rost, Anamosa, was arrested for possession of marijuana 1st offense. No court date was set. 

Andrew Jonathan Jara, Bellevue, was charged with possession of marijuana 1st offense. A preliminary hearing is set for Feb. 17. 

Lee Ann Clark, Cascade, pleaded guilty to OWI 1st offense. She was sentenced to two days in jail, and fined $1,250 plus court costs. 

Rebecca Sue Moore, Olin, pleaded guilty to OWI 1st offense. Judgment was deferred, and she was placed on self-supervised probation for one year. She was ordered to pay a civil penalty of $625 plus court costs. 

Chad Eric Carlson, Anamosa, pleaded guilty to OWI 2nd offense. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail, and fined $1,875 plus court costs. Twenty-three days of the sentence were suspended, and Carlson was placed on self-supervised probation for one year. 

Steven Franklin Laningham, Scotch Grove, pleaded guilty to OWI 2nd offense. He was sentenced to 60 days in jail, and fined $1875 plus court costs. Fifty-three days were suspended, and Laningham was placed on self-supervised probation for one year. 

Rypollete Santos Vargas, Monticello, pleaded guilty to OWI 1st offense. Judgment was deferred, and he was placed on self-supervised probation for one year. Vargas was ordered to pay a civil penalty of $1,250 plus court costs. 

Brian Frederick Haynes, Dubuque, pleaded guilty to OWI 1st offense. Judgment was deferred, and he was placed on self-supervised probation for one year. Haynes was ordered to pay a civil penalty of $1,250 plus court costs.
