District Court

     Randy Kevin Moenk, Hopkinton, was charged with OWI 1st offense, striking fixtures on public highway, and failure to maintain control. A preliminary hearing is set for Oct. 11.

     Gregory Alan Buol, Monticello, was charged with OWI 1st offense. An arraignment is set for Oct. 16.

     Brandon Jo Fort, Anamosa, pleaded not guilty to OWI 1st offense. A jury trial is set for Jan. 9, 2018.

     Charles James Ellison, Monticello, pleaded not guilty to OWI 3rd offense, driving while license denied/revoked, and eluding. A jury trial is set for Dec. 19.

     Charles Thomas Bever, Marion, pleaded guilty to violating terms of probation. He was sentenced to one year in prison, to run concurrently with two Linn County sentences. Bever was also fined court costs.

     Emily Marie Ostby, Iowa City, pleaded guilty to public intoxication and careless driving. She was fined a total of $500 plus court costs.

     Angel Ann Hurt, Anamosa, pleaded guilty to possession of drug paraphernalia. She was sentenced to a total of seven days in jail, and fined court costs. Hurt also had a charge of public intoxication, dismissed.

     Mark Daniel Teymer, Cedar Rapids, pleaded not guilty to an amended charge of domestic abuse assault. A bench trial is set for Nov. 15.

     Anthony Robert Ginther, Monticello, pleaded not guilty to sex offender registration violation 1st offense and sex offender-providing false information 1st offense. A jury trial is set for Dec. 12.

     Madison Rose Hankemeier, Cedar Rapids, was charged with 3rd degree theft. A preliminary hearing is set for Oct. 18. She also pleaded not guilty to assault causing bodily injury/mental illness, 4th degree theft, and 1st degree burglary. A jury trial is set for Nov. 14.

     Luther Jo Gilbert, Anamosa, was charged with assault while displaying a dangerous weapon. A preliminary hearing is set for Oct. 18.        

     David Michael Waite, Spragueville, pleaded not guilty to unlawful possession of prescription drug and possession of marijuana 3rd offense. A jury trial is set for Nov. 28.

     Marvin Lewis Hunter, Martelle, was charged with assault with dangerous weapon and going armed with intent. An arraignment is set for Oct. 16.

     Jamie Alen Boge, Anamosa, was arrested for controlled substance violation (methamphetamine) and police dog-interference. No court date set.

     Tyler Mason Kula, Hopkinton, pleaded guilty to possession of marijuana. Judgment was deferred, and he was placed on self-supervised probation for one year. Kula was also ordered to pay a civil penalty of $315 plus court costs.

     Timothy Paul Foster, Monticello, pleaded guilty to possession of methamphetamine. His sentence and fine are pending. Foster also had a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia, dismissed.

     Wesley Carl Gerdes, Anamosa, pleaded guilty to possession of marijuana. Judgment was deferred, and he was placed on self-supervised probation for one year. Gerdes was also ordered to pay a civil penalty of $315 plus court costs.

     Austin Michael Woods, Anamosa, pleaded not guilty to false report of indictable offense to public entity. A jury trial is set for Nov. 28.

     John Matthew Murphy, Marion, pleaded not guilty to driving while license denied/revoked. A jury trial is set for Nov. 14.

     Jordan Patrick Edwards, Monticello, was charged with driving while license denied/revoked. An arraignment is set for Oct. 23.
