District Court

     Dustin Travis Smolek, Lowden, was found guilty of violating terms/conditions of probation and was found in contempt of court. He was sentenced to 23 days in a residential care facility, and assessed court costs.

     Kyle Douglas Jackson, Springville, pleaded not guilty to carrying weapons and OWI 1st offense. A jury trial is set for Nov. 6.

     Addison Joseph Metz, Delmar, was charged with driving while barred. A preliminary hearing is set for Sept. 3.

     Trelain Allen Whiting, Havelock, N.C., pleaded guilty to 3rd degree arson. He was sentenced to two years in prison, and fined $625 plus court costs. The sentence was suspended, and Whiting was placed on unsupervised probation for one year. He was ordered to pay victim restitution in the amount of $1,000.

     Blake Erick Taylor, Jr., Anamosa, pleaded guilty to an amended offense of assault with intent to commit serious injury. He was sentenced to two years in prison, to run concurrently with two cases in Linn County. Tayor was also fined $625 plus court costs, and ordered to pay victim restitution.

     Jessica Ann Marie Hartwig, Des Moines, pleaded guilty to three counts of forgery. Judgment was deferred and she was placed on supervised probation for three years. Hartwig was ordered to pay victim restitution and a civil penalty of $750 plus court costs. The civil penalty was suspended.

     Keegan Terrance Hebert, Marion, pleaded guilty to the lesser offense of 3rd degree attempted burglary, possession of marijuana 1st offense, and possession of prescription drug/device without prescription. He was sentenced to three and a half years in prison and placed on supervised probation for three years. The sentence was suspended, and Hebert was fined $940 plus court costs.

     Heather Regina Szakacs, Marion, pleaded not guilty to possession of methamphetmine 1st offense. a jury trial is set for Nov. 6.

     Lindell Andre Jackson, Jr., address not available, was charged with two counts of assault on persons engaged in certain occupations. An arraignment is set for Aug. 27.

     Darryl Tyson, Fort Madison, was charged with assault on persons engaged in certain occupations-contact with bodily fluids. An arraignment is set for Aug. 27.

     Prince Nyomah, address not available, was charged with assault on persons engaged in certain occupations. An arraignment is set for Aug. 27.

     Matthew John Peterson, Anamosa, pleaded guilty to possession of marijuana 2nd offense. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail, with 28 days suspended. Peterson was placed on self-supervised probation for one year, and fined $315 plus court costs.

     Steve Lynn Ransier, Marion, pleaded guilty to driving while license denied, suspended, revoked, or barred. He was fined $1,000 plus court costs.

     Matthew James Weiland, Dubuque, pleaded guilty to possession of marijuana 1st offense. Judgment was deferred, and he was placed on unsupervised probation for one year. Weiland was ordered to pay a civil penalty of $315 plus court costs.

     Austin Ryan Yeisley, Anamosa, pleaded not guilty to domestic abuse assault-injury/mental illness 1st offense. A jury trial is set for Nov. 6.

     Allen William Stecher, Central City, pleaded guilty to OWI 1st offense. Judgment was deferred, and he was placed on self-supervised probation for one year. Stecher was fined $1,250 plus court costs.

     Christopher Peter Hosch, Cascade, pleaded guilty to OWI 2nd offense. Sentence is pending.

     Logan Brett Seeley, Anamosa, pleaded not guilty to OWI 1st offense and possession of marijuana 1st offense. A jury trial is set for Nov. 6.

     Joshua Charles Parmenter, Monticello, pleaded guilty to OWI 2nd offense. A jury trial is set for Nov. 6.

     Brian Wade Rickels, Anamosa, pleaded guilty to OWI 1st offense. A jury trial is set for Nov. 6.

     Jordan Joseph Honn, Ely, pleaded guilty to OWI 1st offense. A jury trial is set for Nov. 6.

     Denise Joy Whitmore, Anamosa, was charged with OWI 1st offense. an arraignment is set for Aug. 27.

     Paulson Dorante, Marion, was charged with OWI 1st offense. A preliminary hearing is set for Aug. 27.

     Andrew Eugene Simon, Dubuque, was charged with OWI 1st offense and carrying a dangerous weapon. A preliminary hearing is set for Aug. 27.
