MIDLAND RECAP

Girls track

Midland scored 52 points and placed sixth in the West Liberty Invitational April 4.

“Overall a pretty good meet for the Midland girls,” head coach Ryan Luensman said. “We are throwing farther each meet, and our times are dropping.

Libertie Uppena had the highest finish for the Eagles, finishing second in the shot put with a distance of 38-foot-0.

“Libertie continues to improve each time she competes,” Luensman said.

Finishing fourth were Drew Jensen in the 400, and Jaelynn Folkers in the 1,500 and Libertie Uppena in the discus.

Taking fifth place were Emma Dusanek in the 100 and the 400, Drew Jensen in the 200 and Jaelynn Folkers in the 3,000.

“Jaelynn Folkers had a good race in the 1,500. She placed fourth in a very tough race and is about 10 seconds faster than she was last year at this time,” the coach said.

“Emma Dusanek had a nice race in the open 100, and Drew Jensen placed top-four in the open 400 as well. Taylor Bahnsen continues to compete well every race.”
