Easy tips to clean house siding

Letter to the Editor

To the Editor,

Is it a miracle, no; it’s “alas totally awesome.”

An easy way to clean the green stuff off your siding (if it hasn’t been there too long). I have white siding. All I do is:

     1. Wet down siding (north side).

     2. Spray on “Awesome.” (Or I just dip my stiff brush in a bucket of “Awesome” and brush with the grain of the siding.

     3. I always do a small section at a time. Start the next section, then I go back and scrub the first section over again, then I rinse; green on my siding is gone.

Again: wet down siding; spray or brush on “Awesome;” brush a second time for good measure, then rinse.

Ta da, my siding is white again.

A great process to get done before winter.

I also had some black on my east side of the house; it looks so much better.

I used it concentrated out of the container and bought it here in Monticello.

The Carey brothers say never pressure wash your siding. This way is so easy. The cleaner is in a clear 20-ounce spray bottle, or a 64-ounce container with red lettering. The cleaner is yellow.

     Just had to share.
