Edwards fires hole in one

Monticello’s Steve Edwards shot a hole in one at the Monticello Golf Club in June.

Edwards’ ace came on the eighth hole, using an 8-iron.

MACC outing draws 20 teams

     A total of 20 teams competed during the 16^th annual Monticello Area Chamber of Commerce, Inc. Golf Outing Friday, Aug. 2 at the Monticello Golf Club.

     After the 5:30 p.m. shotgun start, players golfed nine holes and then enjoyed networking and a meal. Overall winners follow.

     First flight: 1, Commander Buildings; 2 Doug Herman team.

     Second flight: 1, Terri Burdick team; 2, Fidelity Bank & Trust.

     Numerous other pin contest prizes and door prizes were presented as well. Event co-chairs were Angie McDonough and Jake Thompson. Proceeds from the event will fund tourism and visitor activities, business initiatives and community events.
