Eighth-graders face pair of opponents

     Monticello’s eighth-grade girls’ basketball teams faced a pair of opponents last week.

     At Anamosa Nov. 20, the Panthers lost 23-22 in the A game. Jaelyn Aitchison scored eight points to pace Monticello. Katie Roher and Brea Stahlberg each had five points, and Reagan Schneiter added four.

     In the B game, Monticello lost 8-6. Bella Mullen had four points and Emily Hendricks had two for the Panthers.

     Monticello’s teams played host to Cascade Nov. 26. The A team fell by a score of 31-28 despite 16 points from Schneiter. Also scoring were Madison Butterworth and Aitchison with four apiece, Stahlberg and Roher with two each.

     The B team lost 10-2 with Grace Cooksley scoring the Panther points.

 

Seventh-grade

girls basketball

     On Nov. 26, Monticello played host to Cascade. Monticello avenged a loss from earlier this season to the Cougars and escaped with a 20-18 victory for the Red team.  The White team also won its half game 10-4.

     The White team played Anamosa at home Nov. 27 and got a 24-16 victory.
