False claims that Trump is Hitler

Letter to the Editor

To the Editor,

In a recent Letter to the Editor, the author ended by asking the readers if he was crazy or if the readers were crazy. Well, the readers are not crazy, but he either appears to have or has been listening to those who have an all-too-common diagnosis: Trump Derangement Syndrome.

When someone says, "Trump is Hitler," you know they have it. When they make the thinly veiled suggestion that Trump believes he's the Anti-Christ, who wants to wreck the economies of Christian nations, and that Elon Musk is his cohort, it's even worse. When they claim that the Anti-Christ appears in the Book of Reactivation and not the Book of Revelation, you know they have it bad!

Trump's concern about tariffs is not about some imaginary plan to wreck the economies of Christian nations. He's complained about America getting ripped off in trade by friend and foe alike for 30 years. Now, Trump is doing something about it. The biggest offender, China, which is the nation hit hardest by the Trump tariffs, is not a Christian nation.

If Trump was anti-Christian, he would have ordered Elon Musk to continue using $446,700 in State Department funds to promote atheism in Nepal, not stop it. Is it anti-Christian to stop the IRS wasting millions of dollars spinning its wheels and never finish updating its computer systems, a task which was to have been completed in 1996; to stop the VA from spending $380,000 a month for minor website modifications, a job now done in 10 hours a week by its own software engineer; and to stop USAID and state department expenditures of $15 million for condoms to the Taliban, $3,315,446 for “being LGBTQ in the Caribbean,” $14 million in cash vouchers for illegal aliens at the southern border, $1 million to boost French-speaking LGBTQ groups in West and Central Africa, $20,600 for a drag show in Ecuador, $47,020 for a transgender opera in Colombia, and $32,000 for an LGBTQ-centered comic book in Peru?

The Department of Government Efficiency, under Elon Musk, stopped all of the above. In addition to that, they had $1.4 billion of unused COVID funds returned to the treasury and are working to return an additional $2.9 billion.

So much for the never-ending, always false "Trump is Hitler, a Nazi, the Anti-Christ, a dictator or fill-in-the-blank" and "Elon Musk is Trump's partner in crime" nonsense.

Sincerely,

Donald W. Bohlken
